Haiti Earthquake

Your financial gift today will help meet the immediate and long term needs of people who have been affected by the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

Medjina Morise (pictured above) drinks a cup of water from a filter given by MCC to provide her Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp with drinking water. Morise is living with her family and 60 other people who are taking refuge in a half-built church that survived the earthquake in Petionville, Haiti.

MCC is grateful for the generous financial gifts given to MCC for the people of Haiti. Some of those funds are already at work in Haiti, being used to purchase food and supplies that are available nearby.

MCC is also sending two containers of canned meat, 10,000 heavy comforters, 20,000 relief kits, 10,000 sheets and other supplies. MCC has also purchased thousands of tarps to help provide temporary shelter to those people displaced by the earthquake.

MCC is planning a multimillion dollar response over a number of years, focusing on rebuilding homes and livelihoods.
