MCC-supported livelihood projects provide training and resources for people to start new ventures and to improve their futures right where they live. Your gift helps create jobs and foster meaningful work opportunities for people to support themselves and their families.
“Now every weekend I have requests for multiple birthday cakes,” says Silvia Hurtado, who learned skills in baking cakes and other sweets through an MCC-supported project in Montero, Bolivia. The program includes trainings in baking, hairdressing and jewelry making and on issues such as self-esteem. “I have learned not to be afraid, to value myself and to value my time and my work,” she says. “I also have learned to treat my family and the people that surround me better.”
