Hello family and friends!
I am excited to share that beginning this August, I will be serving in Mexico with Mennonite Central Committee’s (MCC) Serving and Learning Together (SALT) program! For a year, I will be working as a Hospitality Assistant at Casa de los Amigos, a Quaker Center for Peace and International Understanding in Mexico City.
During my time at Casa, I will be helping to run the hospitality program, which includes a social justice-oriented guest house and a community center. I will have the opportunity to welcome and build relationships with guests from around the world, as well as to accompany migrants and refugees who receive temporary lodging at Casa. As part of their Migration, Economic and Environmental Justice committees, I will be organizing and planning events for the community related to a range of social justice issues including the roots and realities of migration and asylum, poverty, human rights and economic solidarity.
I am so excited for the growth and learning that is sure to take place next year as I live into my values and passions, seeking to pursue Kingdom work and global reconciliation in Mexico City. However, I know I cannot enter this season alone; taking this step will require much support from my community of loved ones. Above all, your prayer and encouragement are the best support I can hope for as I prepare for this season! In addition, while MCC will be covering half of my expenses for the year, I will be responsible for raising a minimum of $5,600 to meet the remaining costs. If you are interested and able to support me financially, I would greatly appreciate your partnership and generosity. Any donations can be given through this website.
Thank you so much for supporting me, partnering with me and encouraging me as I prepare for this next season of life! If you are interested in receiving updates throughout my year of service with MCC, please let me know and I would be happy to add you to my email list, as well.
