As a Youth Club Leader with MCC’s local partner, Believing, Hoping Loving (BHL) in Zaporizhia, I will be working with children and teens whose parents have passed away. I will be involved in teaching English. By providing programming that will better equip them for life outside of an orphanage environment, BHL is bringing a brighter future to the young people it serves. As I form relationships with these children, I will be praying that the sharing of the Gospel falls to open hearts. These kids will be exposed to the message that, “A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in his holy dwelling place.” (Psalm 68.5). I am humbled to be able to join this team, as I know without a doubt that there will be many things that my peers and students teach me as well while I am there. Knowing that I have a lot to grow in throughout this journey is an awesome and challenging truth. I am immensely looking forward to meeting the children and my fellow co-workers in Zaporizhia.
On a related note, I would greatly appreciate your conversing with our Lord on my behalf specifically about the children at BHL, the fundraising process, and the transition into a new country, culture, and community. I hope you will seek the Lord’s direction as to the possibility of giving towards this mission. Ultimately, just as God has called me to this trip, I know that He has called those who will be joining in the financial support of His vision. The total cost of the trip is $5,600.
Your decision to join my team in either prayers and/or financial support is a blessing beyond description. I am weak, but He is strong. Please be praying for His glory, love and strength to shine through during this process, for I must decrease and He must increase. Thank you for your time.
