Thank you for visiting my Giving Registry page! My name is Breyona Midgett. I have the amazing opportunity to work with MCC Serving and Learning program (SALT). I will be in Kathmandu, Nepal working with the KOSHISH organization as a Mental Health Activities Coordinator. This position is based at the KOSHISH Transit Home for women recovering from mental illness. This internship is from August 15, 2018 – July 13, 2019.

I have a passion for cultural and psychology. I chose MCC SALT, because I believe God is calling me to use my psychology degree to work cross-culturally. I wanted to gain experience working in mental health before applying to a doctoral program that could tailor to that discipline. In addition, this assignment requires research, so I will have the opportunity to experience real, applied research outside of the class before entering a PhD program. I am beyond excited to begin working with Koshish, to gain hands on experience with various mental illnesses and how those cultural differences play into treatment. SALT has provided me with this opportunity to learn, serve those in need, and enrich my life, education, and future career through this internship.

I am asking for any donation/contribution you can make towards this internship is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Breyona Midgett.
