The first time I set foot in the Middle East, I knew I would be back. After spending the last year in Washington, DC, fighting to protect the rights of refugees and immigrants who sought protections within our borders, I am excited to work on these issues abroad and continue to grow not only in my professional development, but in my personal and spiritual life as well.
I am very excited to announce that starting at the end of August 2018, I will join Mennonite Central Committee's (MCC) Serving and Learning Together (SALT) program as a Peace and Disaster Response Assistant with a local peacebuilding and reconciliation organization. My role will involve providing administrative and technical assistance to their humanitarian relief and peacebuilding programs. I will assist with their response to the Syrian crisis, while additionally supporting their efforts to promote peacebuilding and reconciliation in Lebanon.
I will have the opportunity to further my Arabic, while being immersed in work I have always envisioned myself doing. Your contributions are what make this work possible. I need to raise at least $5,600 by the time I leave for orientation on August 15, 2018.
Thank you for partnering with me to support MCC and their peacebuilding work abroad. I look forward to serving in Lebanon and will make sure everyone who is interested in receiving updates about the work I am engaged with, and the work MCC is doing in Lebanon, is able to receive updates. If you would like to support monetarily, please donate via this website. If you plan to support through prayer, let me know so I can keep you informed. Thank you so much for supporting the work of MCC and for enabling me to carry out their work!
